  • Village Mapping and Survey: We conduct thorough surveys to understand the specific challenges faced by children and families.

  • Access to Education & Social Welfare Schemes: We ensure that every child has access to quality education and social welfare schemes.

  • Strengthening Child-Centric Community Governance: We work with local communities to establish effective child protection systems and empower children to speak up.

Our Robust Processes

To implement Surakshit Bal Gram, we have clear guidelines and standard operating procedures:
 

  • Selection Criteria for Districts: Prioritising high-risk areas.

  • Village Mapping & Surveys: Using SOPs and data formats for accurate assessments.

  • Liaison with Local Authorities: Following SOP work closely with district admins, blocks, and panchayats.

  • Child Welfare Documentation: Using formats to apply for social welfare schemes, take anti-child marriage pledges, getting ‘no child marriage’ undertakings and maintaining marriage and migration registers, and following guidelines for CWPCs and Bal Panchayats.

Data-Driven Impact Measurement

We believe in evidence-based change. Here’s how we ensure accountability and track progress:
 

  • Household Listings: Identifying vulnerable children and out-of-school kids, with gender-specific data.

  • Beneficiary Lists: Ensuring every eligible household is linked to government schemes.

  • Key Child Protection Indicators: Monitoring school attendance, instances of child marriage, sexual abuse and trafficking, and education transitions.

  • Marriage & Migration Data: Maintaining detailed registers to prevent child marriages and support safe migration.

  • Data to prevent child marriages: Tracking and maintaining data related to anti-child marriage pledges as well as undertakings taken and families linked with government schemes.

By partnering with local communities, government bodies, and other supporters, we are transforming villages into safe havens where children are protected, educated, and empowered.

Surakshit Bal Gram, which translates to "Safe Village for Children," is a revolutionary initiative aimed at creating child marriage and child exploitation-free communities where every child can learn, thrive, and grow in a safe environment. These villages are built on responsive and resilient child protection systems, ensuring that every child is empowered with access to quality education, support, and safety.

  • Achieve 100% School Enrollment & Retention ensuring every child stays in school.

  • Achieve 100% saturation of government social welfare schemes for vulnerable children and families

  • Ensure maintenance of marriage and migration registers by the Panchayat to prevent child marriage and trafficking.

  • Empower Child Welfare Protection Committees (CWPC) to safeguard children.

  • Enforce Panchayat resolutions mandating zero tolerance for child marriage.
